FAQ

How do we fix windshield cracks?

1. Assess the Damage

  • Cracks under 6–8 inches or chips smaller than a quarter are often repairable.
  • If the crack is in the driver’s line of sight or near the edge, replacement may be safer.

2. Clean the Area

  • Use alcohol and a microfiber cloth to remove dirt and debris.
  • Ensure the glass is completely dry before applying any resin.

3. Apply a Repair Kit

Most DIY kits include:

  • Adhesive disc and pedestal
  • Resin
  • Syringe or pressure driver
  • Curing strip

Process:

  • Attach the adhesive disc over the crack.
  • Fill the pedestal with resin.
  • Use the syringe to create a vacuum, then apply pressure to force resin into the crack.
  • Tap gently around the area to help resin settle and remove air bubbles.

4. Cure the Resin

  • Place a curing strip over the filled crack.
  • Let it sit for 15–30 minutes in direct sunlight or use a UV lamp.
  • Once cured, scrape off excess resin with a razor blade.

5. Final Touches

  • Clean the area again.
  • Inspect for clarity and structural integrity.
